Hi, we’ve got an Ask JP question, here it is: which came first, your desire to be an entrepreneur or you saw the need for this type of business?
Wow, great question!
Neither. Neither, here’s what happened.
I was fundamentally exhausted and tired of other people controlling my destiny. I thought that’s what was happening. I was relying on other people to decide how much I was going to get paid, what I was going to be doing, what my priorities were going to be and I wanted to control over it. So, it was more control.
However, when I started, I didn’t realize the surge in passion and energy that I received from being an entrepreneur. I’ll never go back. So, that was a big deal.
In terms of did the market want the service? Man, I don’t even know if they want it now! It was probably last. I was going to find something to do in the association world based on all of my experiences. The product probably came last. I was starting, I wanted control, then I latched on to the spirit of entrepreneurship, and then the last thing was what the service was going to be. And, by the way, that continues to evolve. We want to keep pivoting and keep moving based on what you need as an association.
Thanks for the question!
