For those of you in sales, you may agree at times it can feel like an absolute grind. When things aren’t going your way, it’s easy to get down on yourself and blame others for your mishaps. Conversely, it’s easy to be positive when you’re making sales and things are going your way. The times when it feels like everyone is telling you, “No” are when you need to focus most on maintaining a positive attitude.
We are deep in the 4th quarter now, and everyone is trying to hit their numbers for the year. If you are having a bad week or a bad month and you are sulking around, it will rub off on others around you, including your prospects. Don’t be selfish. Try to motivate others to reach their goals even if you won’t reach yours.
Continuing to work hard through the end of the year, regardless of the result, will lead to a strong first quarter of 2019. It’s easy to look at December and think it’s the end of something when in reality – January can have an equal amount of opportunity. Find something positive in adverse situations and continue to build on past successes.
